Many visitors come to Vietnam as a stop-over during their trip to neighboring Southeast Asia countries or for business purposes (read about Business visas for Vietnam). A lot of them find themselves bewildered among numerous attractive destinations in Vietnam and do not know how to plan their few day trips.

If you have 3 days or less, it is best spending in a city with a day trip to neighboring attractions. The following suggested trips are based on the assumption that your starting point is one of the major cities in Vietnam. All are D-I-Y itinerary. However, if you prefer a pre-arranged tour, there are plenty of day trips to major attractions in these cities.
